Your First Visit

Knowing what to expect and what to take with you to your first appointment can help make your experience with Cancer Centers of Florida run more smoothly.  Since you will be receiving a lot of information, you may wish to bring a family member or a friend with you.  At your first appointment, you will be

  • Meeting your physician, which may include a physical examination.
  • Undergoing additional testing for a more precise diagnosis so you and your physician can customize your treatment plan.
  • Meeting your nurses, medical assistants, and other members of your medical team.
  • Meeting your financial counselor to discuss your insurance coverage, your out-of-pocket expenses, your financial responsibilities, and any billing questions you may have, and
  • Meeting your Resource Navigator to identify and discuss any non-oncology medical needs, such as transportation or home assistance.
You will have many questions which you may wish to ask your physician.  Click to open a list of some of suggested questions you may wish to ask.

So that your appointment will be as smooth as possible, we do suggest that you complete all patient forms before arriving.  These forms are available on this website.
